A destination wedding suite painted from the water: Isola del Garda, the lakeside towns around it, and three days of celebration told across seven pieces. A & D brought their guests to Lake Garda for a wedding weekend in July 2026, and wanted the invitation to do what a destination should: make people want to be there before they’d booked a flight.
The suite was built around a single watercolour of Isola del Garda seen from the lake, its Venetian Gothic villa, cypresses and palm-lined gardens rising above the water, with a Riva-style launch cutting across the foreground. That painting became the cover of the main invitation, held closed with an olive grosgrain ribbon and a blush wax seal pressed with the couple’s monogram.
From there, each card carries the guest through the weekend. A painted map of the lake plots every venue: Antica Cascina San Zago, Torre San Marco, A Rosa Hotel and the island itself, finished with a compass rose so guests could get their bearings on arrival. The welcome card frames Wednesday’s cocktail dinner behind a pair of hand-painted theatre curtains in soft rose. Friday’s pool party and brunch sits beneath striped parasols and rubber rings. And a smaller card, opening simply with Shhh…, quietly invites a chosen few to the after party at Torre San Marco.
The same boat reappears throughout — on the cover, the map and the after-party card — a small recurring detail that ties the set together. All wording is in flowing pointed-pen calligraphy, and the RSVP card directs guests online to reply and book accommodation, keeping the printed suite clear of logistics.
Everything arrives in a textured ivory envelope with a [gold-foiled] monogram roundel on the flap, opening to a liner painted with a view through a Gothic arcade out across the lake: the first glimpse of Italy before the cover is even seen.

Points to confirm before it goes live: the print process for the illustrations and the monogram (I’ve assumed foil from the photo), the paper stock, whether the illustrator and calligrapher should be credited by name, and that the couple are happy for the venue names and dates to appear. I’ve also left the wedding website address and any surname off deliberately, since it’s visible on the RSVP card.
